Starting the new year off right.
Got a pulled muscle in my back,
then this morning I nearly broke my hand on the joiner.
Note to self: do not try to plane pieces of wood shorter than twice the width of the throat of the joiner.
not enough surface on the bed for stability.
It dipped into the blade, kicked back, slamming into my hand.
Luckily, nothing broken.
As near as I can tell just a bad bruise and a sore hand.
Fingers, thumb and wrist still work ok.
gonna hurt for a couple of days but a cheap lesson at the price.
Well, I learned something I didn't know (but should have) about woodworking.
Short pieces of wood and the joiner do not mix.
