Walk behind tractor work

Did some more work on the walk behind tractor.
I had to take the belt guard off to get the old belts out.
to get the belt guard off, I had to remove the tire on that side.
Tire and belt guard removed.
The belt guard is in sorry shape.
The belt guard is in need of some love.
I then removed the old, broken throttle cable.
I decided that it needed a bath.
It was dirty.
but before I could give it a bath, I decided I needed to fix my outside outlet.
The 4x4 post had rotted off.
So I drove a metal fence post and made a new mount for the outlet.

Old post rotted off at the ground.

Drove a metal fence post to mount it on.

Created a mounting bracket

Much better.  And easier to reach now too.

I then washed the walk behind and let it dry.

Today I painted it to help keep it from rusting any more.

Mostly clean.  Time to paint.

All done.  It's not perfect but should help keep the rust to a minimum.

Now to let the paint dry.
I ordered the belts online and a new tube for the flat tire.
It's getting there.
I hope to have it working before winter.

Also had a visit from the local cat.
I may have wound up informally adopting him.

This is Abbis.
Abbis enjoying a free meal.
Found another visitor to the yard.
I'm not keeping him though.

Natural insect control.
Have a good week Y'all.
