New 10 meter antenna

Success, I think.

After trying and failing with the crossbow I went out and purchased a slingshot.

Set it up for line throwing.

Kinda hokey but it works.

I finally succeeded in getting a line in the second tree.

It's up there.

I got my new, store bought 10 meter antenna up between 40 and 50 feet.

I can definitely hear more.

In fact, I may hear too much as my noise floor went way up.

I can tell there are people talking on it but the static is so bad that i can only faintly hear what sounds like voices some times.

Other times the only way I can tell I am receiving transmissions is by the bouncing of my meter.

Not sure if it is my set up, legit noise, or just the band being persnickety.

I will find out how good it works tomorrow night during the net's.

I should be able to hear the local people without too much problem.

(I hope!)

One good note, the bug that I caught seems to have left so I'm feeling better.

With the crazy, wet and chilly, dry and warm, wet and chilly weather we have been having the bug is going around.  Several people I know are sick or have just gotten over it.
