Ok, I finished the robin box today and as promised here are the pics.

For using trash wood and having a ho-hum attitude towards the construction I think it turned out fairly well.
I could have taken more time and gotten everything just right but I was doing it for fun, not work.
It definitely looks rustic.
I have no idea if the birds will use it.
To be honest, with all the natural nesting sites around, I don't know why they would use the box.
But who knows, I had one nesting on the porch several years in a row.
