Scrap wood challenge: Robin Box finished.

Ok, I finished the robin box today and as promised here are the pics.

Pieces glued together.

Sides attached to bottom.

Fully assembled.

Hmmm, that gap will leak.

A little piece of rubber will make a good weather strip.

Old bandsaw tire was actually good for something.

Ready for the tree.

In the tree as high as I felt like going.

It blends in with the tree fairly well.

For using trash wood and having a ho-hum attitude towards the construction I think it turned out fairly well.

I could have taken more time and gotten everything just right but I was doing it for fun, not work.

It definitely looks rustic.

I have no idea if the birds will use it.

To be honest, with all the natural nesting sites around, I don't know why they would use the box.

But who knows,  I had one nesting on the porch several years in a row.
