Happy Birthday America!

Happy 4th of July to everyone.

I used this long weekend to finally get the porch roof repaired.

Took multiple trips to multiple stores and a large hit to my credit cards to get all the supplies.

First I had to strip off the old roof.

Porch before I started.

Previous roof was not installed properly.

First panel gone.

Cut the tails of the main roof back to the edge of the house.

Second panel gone.

I stopped there and steven took over.

He finished it at night.

All panels gone.

 Then I had to repair the damage to the frame and correct the bad construction as best I could.

Adding 4x4 to the frame to make a true header.

New 4x4's are larger than the posts so I had to run them through the planer to size them.

Second beam in.

New fascia board installed.

Then it was time for the new panels.

Steven and I had to work together to get them up and I did not take photos till the end.

Steven fastening down the last new panel.

Looks worlds better already.

Tar paper put down and edge flashing installed.

Did not take photos as I was too busy getting the job done.

Next came the tin.

Once again Steven and I worked together to get it done.

I did not get any photos of the flashing instal.

Once the tin and flashing was done all that was left was the gutter.

Painting the fascia before hanging the gutter.

Gutter is up and properly sloped this time.

All done except the cleanup.
